Kinderland children proudly marched into the venue, marking the exciting start of the Kinderland Sports Day 2026 as families and educators cheered them on.
Laughter, teamwork, and cherished Malaysian childhood memories filled the air as children, parents, and educators came together for Kinderland Sports Day 2026, themed “Nostalgic Malaysian Sports Carnival”.
The exciting day began with a vibrant march-past featuring children from various Kinderland centres across Malaysia – proudly representing their schools with enthusiasm and team spirit. The colourful procession set the tone for a day of fun, friendship, and family bonding.
Parents were the biggest supporters of their children at Kinderland Sports Day 2026.
To kick off the festivities, families took part in an energetic Zumba session, with parents and children dancing side by side to lively music.
Children enthusiastically took part in a gymnastics experience led by JACPA coaches
Adding to the festivities was a captivating gymnastics performance by JACPA. The talented young gymnasts impressed the audience with their strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence, showcasing the results of their dedication and hard work through an inspiring display of athleticism.
The highlight of the Sports Carnival was seven interactive game stations, each organised by a Kinderland centre, inspired by traditional Malaysian games and nostalgic childhood experiences.
Bringing cherished Malaysian flavours to life, families bonded over activities inspired by local fruits and traditional delicacies, celebrating the rich food culture that has been passed down through generations.
At ”Pasar Malam Fruit Ninja”, children rolled plastic eggs to their parents, who “sliced” them open to reveal puzzle pieces, before working together to complete pictures of popular Malaysian fruits. At ”Mini Malaysian Food Art”, families used clay to create beloved local favourites such as nasi lemak, satay, and colourful kuih.
Families rediscovered the timeless charm of traditional Malaysian games, creating new memories while celebrating childhood favourites across generations.
The fun continued at ”1, 2, Jus! Tic Tac Toe!”, where families combined strategy and coordination to complete a giant tic-tac-toe challenge using bean bags. Meanwhile, at ”Jelajah Guni Rayau Malaysia”, parents pulled their children through an obstacle course on gunny sacks while collecting hidden keywords to uncover a secret message.
Traditional Malaysian games such as Capteh, Congkak, and Guling Kelapa created meaningful opportunities for parents to pass on cherished childhood traditions while children experienced the joy of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through play.
At ”Teh Tarik Capteh”, participants demonstrated balance and coordination as parents kept the “capteh”, or feather ball airborne using only their feet after receiving passes from their children. Families also enjoyed ”Jom Congkak”, where they rolled balls into congkak holes, adding a fun twist to the traditional game. The final station, ”Teng Teng Guling Kelapa”, combined hopscotch with coconut husk bowling, delighting participants.
At the end of each station, families earned points based on their performances, which they redeemed for a variety of prizes. Every child also received a participation medal in recognition of their sportsmanship, perseverance, and enthusiasm, along with an assortment of goodies.
One of the day’s most heartwarming moments was seeing parents embrace the games with as much enthusiasm as their children. As families laughed, competed, and collaborated, many relived the simple joys of growing up in Malaysia, while introducing a new generation to the traditional games and experiences that shaped their childhoods.
