In conjunction with World Hand Hygiene Day, Kinderland Preschool @ Mutiara Damansara was honoured to collaborate with Sunway Medical Centre Damansara for the “Actions Save Lives” programme, an educational initiative that introduced young children to the importance of proper hand hygiene and healthy living habits.
At Kinderland, we believe that developing good habits begins from an early age. Beyond academic learning, children are encouraged to build essential life skills that support their overall well-being, independence, and confidence. Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, they gain a better understanding of how simple daily practices contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
Healthcare professionals from Sunway Medical Centre Damansara engaged children in an interactive session on proper hand hygiene, helping them understand how healthy habits can protect themselves and others.
During the programme, our preschoolers participated in an engaging session led by healthcare professionals from Sunway Medical Centre Damansara. They learnt proper hand-washing techniques, discovered how germs and bacteria spread, and understood the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene in keeping themselves and those around them healthy.
To reinforce these lessons, the children took part in a variety of interactive activities including songs and dance, live demonstrations, a colouring contest, and an exciting question-and-answer session. These activities transformed important health messages into enjoyable learning experiences, allowing children to learn through participation, exploration, and play.
The colouring contest provided children with a creative way to explore the importance of hand hygiene. By visualising proper handwashing practices through art, children were able to better understand and remember the healthy habits that keep them safe and well.
Promoting health and hygiene awareness is an important part of nurturing well-rounded individuals. By introducing healthy habits in a fun and age-appropriate way, children are encouraged to take ownership of their well-being while developing positive routines that can last a lifetime.
