The children of Kinderland Preschool @ Maisson Ara Damansara donned their best Raya outfits as they posed for “Best Dressed” award photoshoot, adding to the joy of celebrating Hari Raya at their school.

This Hari Raya, joy echoed through the halls of all Kinderland Malaysia centres as our young learners immersed themselves in vibrant festivities that beautifully blended culture, tradition, and fun. Each centre added its own flair to the celebration, creating memorable moments that captured the true spirit of Hari Raya – togetherness, forgiveness, and gratitude.

Delights on Every Plate

Kinderland Preschool @ Seremban 2 and Kinderland Preschool @ Section 14 Petaling Jaya made their own festive foods like Ketupat and Dodol. The children not only experienced the joy of festive traditions but also learned valuable life skills, appreciated cultural heritage, and developed a deeper sense of independence and responsibility.

Food is at the heart of every Hari Raya celebration, and our little ones had a taste of tradition at its finest. They learnt how to make their own Kuih Raya cookies, ketupat and lemang, and even dodol. The children gained a hands-on understanding of the flavours that define this joyous occasion. Teachers also introduced traditional dishes commonly served during open houses, sparking conversations about culture, heritage, and the meaning behind these festive meals.

Celebration is never without some delicious treats to eat! Kinderland Preschool @ Denai Alam and Kinderland Preschool @ Kota Bharu showed us how to celebrate with Roti Jala and various types of kuih-muih respectively.

Fun, Forgiveness, and Festivities

Beyond the food, each centre brought the Raya spirit to life through engaging activities. Children took part in Ketupat scavenger hunts, crafted creative Raya-themed art, an even played traditional Malay culture games like congkak.

Traditions kept alive when it is introduced early. Childhood games like congkak were played at Kinderland Preschool @ Setia Impian and Kinderland Preschool @ Kota Kemuning amongst the children.

The children also participated in the tradition of salam bermaafan—where family members seek and offer forgiveness by clasping hands and exchanging heartfelt apologies—symbolizes renewal, humility, and the strengthening of familial bonds.

A meaningful moment at Kinderland Preschool @ Putra Heights and Kinderland Preschool @ USJ as our children observe salam bermaafan with their teachers—honouring the spirit of forgiveness, respect, and togetherness this Hari Raya.

Parents and children of Kinderland Preschool @ Bangsar participated in Raya-themed arts and craft activity and even performed a TikTok dance challenge, with the children teaching their parents the moves in sign language.

These thoughtfully curated experiences not only brought festive cheer but also fostered deeper understanding and appreciation for Malaysian cultural traditions. At Kinderland, we believe celebrations are not just about fun – they are meaningful opportunities to nurture empathy, cultural pride, and joyful learning.

Kinderland Preschool @ Ipoh children gleefully participated in a class photoshoot during their centre’s Hari Raya celebration.

Selamat Hari Raya from all of us at Kinderland – may this season bring peace, happiness, and continued growth for every child.
