A group of children from Kinderland Preschool @ Setia Impian and their teachers had a splendid time during their educational visit at Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Shah Alam.

Kinderland Preschool @ Setia Impian’s children recently embarked on an exciting and meaningful learning journey to the Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia Shah Alam branch, where classroom lessons came to life in the most engaging way.

As part of Kinderland’s curriculum theme, Our Community Helpers, the visit allowed children to better understand the important role firefighters play in keeping our communities safe. Through interactive sharing sessions, they learned about fire safety, emergency response, and the daily responsibilities of firefighters — from rescuing those in danger to responding swiftly during fires, accidents, and natural disasters. More than just uniforms and fire engines, the children discovered that firefighters are brave individuals who dedicate themselves to protecting lives and property.

One of the firefighters shared valuable insights about fire safety and the important roles firefighters play in the community. Meaningful conversations like these sparked curiosity and nurtured a growing appreciation among the children for the many individuals who contribute to keeping society safe and functioning.

Seeing the fire station up-close sparked curiosity and excitement. The children were introduced to the different components of a fire engine, learning about its specialised tools and equipment. From ladders and hoses to protective gear, every part serves a critical purpose in emergency situations. This sensorial exposure — observing, touching, and asking questions — deepened their understanding far beyond what books alone can offer.

Sitting on the RIM (Rapid Intervention Motorcylce), the children of Kinderland Preschool @ Setia Impian eagerly immersed themselves in the experience, stepping into the role of “Little Firefighters” with excitement and pride. What they had previously only experienced through miniature toys or digital illustrations now came alive before their eyes.

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to experience handling the water hose under supervision. The hands-on activity was not only thrilling but also reinforced their learning in a memorable way. Engaging their senses through real-world experiences strengthens children’s cognitive connections and nurtures meaningful learning.

Fun-filled learning with water! After discovering how firefighters operate the water hose, the children were delighted to participate in a supervised water play session alongside the firefighters. This joyful hands-on experience not only reinforced their learning but also brought the visit to a memorable and exciting close.

At Kinderland, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom walls. By connecting children to real community helpers like our firefighters, we cultivate appreciation, respect, and awareness from a young age. Experiences such as this help shape socially conscious individuals who understand the value of teamwork, responsibility, and service to the community.
