Join us in celebrating the joyous occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri at Kinderland Malaysia! On May 5, 2023, our preschool centres came alive with vibrant festivities as we immersed our young learners in the customs and traditions of Hari Raya.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri marks the culmination of Ramadan, symbolising victory over personal struggles and fostering forgiveness and stronger bonds among family and loved ones for Muslims. At Kinderland, we aim to educate our children about these customs and promote harmony among different races as we celebrate together.
Dressed in traditional Hari Raya outfits, our teachers and children greeted each other with warm wishes of “Selamat Hari Raya” while practicing the tradition of Salam, seeking forgiveness from one another. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement.
As part of the celebration, our children savoured a delectable array of Hari Raya food, including chicken rendang, sayur lodeh, ketupat, lemang, satay, kuehs and cakes. Their enjoyment was evident as they relished these festive delicacies.
Our teachers engaged the children in various activities, such as learning the art of weaving ketupat an iconic dish during Hari Raya. Using ribbons, our Kindergarten Two students skilfully crafted ketupat shapes by hand, reminiscent of the traditional woven palm leaf containers.
Additionally, the children had a blast making poppers using balloons and paper cups, exploring their creativity, and indulging in traditional Malay games like Congkak. These experiences enriched their understanding of Malay culture and traditions.
Before bidding farewell for the day, our teachers lovingly distributed goodie bags allowing the children to share in the joy of the occasion with their families.
May the memories and experiences from our Hari Raya celebration at Kinderland Preschools leave a lasting impression, nurturing respect for diversity and fostering cultural harmony.
Selamat Hari Raya to all our Muslim friends!
